Day Trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC

Special Exhibition: J.M.W. Turner

The first retrospective of work of J.M.W.Turner (1775-1851) presented in the United States in over 40 years, this international exhibition will highlight approximately 140 paintings and watercolors – more than half of them from Tate Britain’s Turner Bequest – along with works from other collections in Europe and North America. The artist’s extensive iconographic range will be represented, from seascapes and topographical views to historical subjects and scenes from his imagination.
We will meet and board a bus at the Concord Art Association in the early morning and return in the evening. 

Cost is $120 which includes transportation, gratuities, tickets to show and guided tour.

Painting in Provence with Nan

Painting in Provence with Nan offers an intensivehands-on workshop for beginner and experienced painters that combines art and historical sights with drawing and painting instruction at beautiful locations from the Mediterranean Sea to the mountains of Luberon. There will be individual instruction, group critiques, sightseeing, markets, potluck dinners and art-filled fun!

Painting Workshop with Paul George
in Port Clyde, Maine

Monday, July 28 to Thursday, July 31, 2008

The Concord Art Association will head to Maine for a four-day painting workshop with Paul George. Enjoy painting classic Maine landscapes such as the seaside village of Port Clyde, Owl’s Head Light, Pemaquid Light, coastal islands, hidden coves and rocky seashore. A visit to the Farnsworth Museum, gallery hopping, and a dinner on the town will complete this Maine painting holiday.

We will carpool to Port Clyde. Cost for the four-day trip including breakfasts, snacks, three lunches, three dinners, three nights at the Ocean House (some rooms are doubles), ferry ride and instruction and fun extras will be $800.

Reservations are limited to 12 people and will be held as first paid, first reserved, by Mastercard or VISA or check to Concord Art Association.
