The paintings in the Loring Coleman Gallery represent my most recent
work, abstractions and impressions drawn from nature, and in particular, the
varying shapes, colors, and moods of my summer garden. Combining the light
transparent watercolors with opaque acrylic and collage opens the creative
process to a continuing freshness. What starts out as a landscape evolves
into something quite different, and when it works, becomes a statement in
itself.
