The Frances N. Roddy Open Competition is an annual competition,
now in its third year, and is one of the art association's most
exciting and competitive shows. The competition is named for a
long-standing friend and artist member of the art association,
Franny Roddy, whose family and friends endowed a $1000 prize to
be given annually in Franny's name to the best entry in this all
media show. The competition gains in popularity year by year,
due to the renown of the jurors selecting entries for exhibition
and other prizes which bring the prize total to $2500.
We are pleased
to announce that for the 2002 competition, the juror was Howard
Yezerski, who has played an important role in cultivating
the talents of artists at his gallery on 14
Newbury Street in Boston.
