ARTIST'S STATEMENT:

My photographs to be displayed at the Concord Art Association will show scenes I have encountered and would like to share with others. For years, my inspiration has been the clear, superbly composed, and exquisite images of Eliot Porter and Ansel Adams, and so I have tried to capture some of the drama, intricacies, and multifarious hues of the natural world in its changing seasons. Scenes are mostly local, mainly spots along Walden Pond, the Minuteman Trail, and the New England Wildflower Society’s Garden in the Woods. Experimentation with the 4x5 view camera has proven that it works best for my purposes, despite its large size and weight. The camera’s adjustment capability and large negative capacity make it superior to smaller roll film cameras for my photographs, which are 16x20 inches in size and matted in 22x28 inch frames.
