Collage-a-thon

With an emphasis on fun and discovery we will cut, tear, stack, weave and fold our way through a series of collages based on prompts, using various themes and collage techniques. Our final project will explore collage in 3-D.

Bring your white glue (glue sticks, Elmers, PV), a small jar of matte medium, scissors or Xactos, and all kinds of papers, magazine cutouts, envelopes, letters, xerox copies of photos you like, and yes, even older artwork (on paper or canvas only), as source material. Plus, mat board (leftovers from a frame store would be ideal), and for our final project, please bring a cradled panel, an old book, and/or a small cardboard box or container of some kind.

The process will be loose and creative; the results may be abstract or representational.
