Drawing for Painters

This four-day workshop will address five major themes in the relationship between painting and drawing: scale, note-taking, measurement, iteration, and intervention.

During our time together we will focus on drawing as a complete, independent media and as a complementary, supporting media to other 2D practices, such as painting or printmaking. 

Independent projects will help each student consider how the media differ, integrate, and reinforce each other in ways they can take back to their individual art practice. Students will refine their own concept, process, and sense of touch in formal application while expanding their understanding of how each relates to drawing.
