Figurative Collage

Learn how to create collages with very simple materials such as glue and magazine cuttings or any thin papers that you fancy. There will be magazine cuttings in every color for you to choose from. We will work with images, either photos of people in interiors, (such as a family photos), or the work of a cherished artist that you’d like to transform into collage. You will simplify and strengthen your composition, and choose colors that will get to the essence of the feeling you want to express. Try bold, unexpected combinations of patches of color. You will learn to recognize happy accidents and be open to a variety of options and solutions. The results can be as realistic or as abstract as you prefer. There are no rules here; you can be as inventive as you like.
