IN PERSON: Bookmaking for Artists; Intensive 2-Day Bookmaking Workshop

This 2-day workshop takes the bookmaking process from start to finish with a focus on book structures especially suited for prints, collages and photographs. We’ll construct several smaller-scale projects to practice techniques and to get familiar with the materials, then upscale and customize for a larger project. Bring prints and/or photographs that you wish to design a book around, or create a book for future projects. The Accordion, Japanese Puncture (Stab Bind) and Hand-Sewn into a Portfolio Cover book structures will be our focus. Start the journey by choosing materials from Cristina’s curated collection of paste papers, marbled papers, decorative and handmade papers, as well as, antique and contemporary book cloths. Interesting choices for closures, buttons and beads will also be available for the perfect finishing touch. All levels of skills are welcome. All materials and technique handouts are provided.

A $60 materials fee to be paid directly to instructor includes all materials for entire workshop.
