Moments in Landscape with Watercolor Monotype

Think small, big impact. Is there a moment that captures your eye—a particular light, composition, color, or pattern in nature? Bring drawings or images of what inspires you and we will look at possibilities in cropping for detail and painting a first impression. Then, you will be painting on several small plates and ultimately print them together as overlays.

This class is ideal for someone who has some experience in watercolor and wants to explore a painterly printmaking technique with fluid colorful expression. In two days, you will see the impact of marks, layering, and deep darks that sparks discoveries unique to watercolor monotype.

Please note the class registration fee covers the cost of some materials that will be provided to students. Diane will provide plates and paper for the workshop. Students will bring their own watercolor paints and brushes (see Materials List).
