Painting, Pattern, and Collage

This class is for painters who want to experiment, loosen up, and/or expand their practice. We will work from a variety of sources for inspiration: still-life setups, postcards, and images from museum collections. As a way of interpreting what we see and building areas of interest, we will add collage to our paintings for texture, dimension, and pattern. The results may be whimsical, abstract, or representational. In any case, you will come away with new ideas to incorporate into your paintings. Emphasis will be on loosening up, new ways of looking, and of course, fun!
