Printmaking Studio Basics

This workshop is suitable for beginners and can be adjusted for all levels of experience. All materials will be provided.

Whether you are a first time printmaker or a seasoned professional artist, this workshop will get you set up with everything you need to know about how to print in Concord Art’s Print Studio. You will learn the fundamentals of printmaking through color mixing and inking while learning about proper technical use of inks and mixing mediums. You will learn about ink transparency and viscosity. We will discuss your goals for the type of prints you are interested in making in our space. You will learn how to correctly and safely operate the press, including setting pressure, blanket use, and cleaning. You will also go home with several colorful monoprints of your own. This engaging and informative workshop will prepare you with all you need to get started printing while having fun and embracing experimentation. Wear your favorite paint outfit!
