Artist Demo: Children’s Books – From Inspiration to Publication with Katia Wish

In-Person Event
October 27, 2022
10:30am-12:00pm

What does a journey from inspiration to publication look like? How do you start your process? From a character? From an idea? From a childhood memory? All of the above!

Join author-illustrator Katia Wish to see how she developed her books Raccoon’s Perfect Snowman and Sophie’s Animal Parade. From childhood memories, to initial character studies, to doodles/notes, to figuring out the heart of the story, to storyboards, to character consistency, to many versions of a dummy book, to submission. And as you think that the book is almost there, there are many more revisions with an editor and an art director. They help you make the book the best it can be!

Katia will bring her books and prints for sale (by cash or check only) — perfect for upcoming winter holidays!

Katia Wish is a children’s book author-illustrator based in Boston, MA. She enjoys creating her own stories as well as illustrating manuscripts of other authors.
