In Person Artist Demonstration: Painting Broadly Defined — Crochet and Wool Explorations with Elizabeth Thach

In Person Event
December 8, 2021
10:30am-12:00pm

Artist Elizabeth Thach works in diverse materials but is heavily influenced by the painting tradition and painting ideas. In this demo, she will talk about the evolution of her current body of work based on crochet; how she came to use crochet, and how and how the textile pieces evolved over time. Thach will present the art history images that have inspired her practice, and will discuss an approach to painting that is based on play, experimentation, and being open to the accidental quality of the materials.

Mediums Addressed in Demo: Crochet, and colored wool.
