Back by popular demand, the Concord Art Association is pleased to present
ADORNED & EMBELLISHED: THE ART OF ACCESSORIES 2 from July 5–August 17, 2007. Opening reception is Thursday, July 12, from 6-8:00pm.
Curated by Deborah Plunkett, ADORNED & EMBELLISHED brings together 17 contemporary artists who create an array of accessories – from offbeat to opulent. This collection of original creations offers something for everyone including hand-painted and shibori-dyed silk scarves and kiminos, whimsical summer hats, colorful bags, and jewelry made with a variety of materials – from precious metals and gems to pencils. In addition to wearable pieces, mirrors created by Charles Gibbs, William Turville and Nick Zapantis as well as dress sculptures by Nancy Arkuss and fashion monoprints by Christiane Corcelle-Lippeveld will also be exhibited. Items will be available for purchase.
