On Saturday, May 21, Concord Art Association will host its thirteenth annual auction, Paint The Town!, to benefit the Association’s public programming and general operations.

“We’re looking forward to this year’s auction,” says Lili Ott, director. “We have an incredible lineup of artists. Ten of them, including Jon Imber and Joel Janowitz, will donate a piece painted that day.  We’re also pleased that this year’s honoree is nationally-recognized artist, Jeff Fichera.”

“I am pleased to be this year’s honoree for Paint the Town,” says Jeff. “Concord Art is an awesome place for artists of any age or experience. I’ve been involved with the Association for nearly ten years and it played a significant role in the development of my career, giving me a solid start as a young artist.”

He adds, “The growth of this organization is impressive. It just gets better every year and though its outreach is expanding, it hasn’t lost its unique welcoming environment. The money raised through the auction supports the Association’s educational and exhibition efforts, and in turn, champions the next generation of artists. I encourage everyone to get their tickets and support Concord Art!”

Concord Art is thrilled that Doug Stinson, of Carl W. Stinson, Inc. will once again lead the auction. Co-Chair Carolyn Letvin notes, “Not only is Doug knowledgeable about art and our artists, his passion and humor make the auction lively and fun.”

The festivities begin at 5:30 pm, with a silent auction from 6:00-8:00pm. The live auction, with 36 pieces, begins at 8:15pm. Ticket holders will enjoy a fun evening of hors d’oeuvres and wine, and of course, one-of-a-kind artwork donated by member artists.

From MAY 5-20, Concord Art Association will present Paint the Town! PREVIEW SHOW, which showcases the artists who will be donating pieces to the auction, and will provide auction goers with an opportunity to become familiar with the artists and their work before the bidding begins. Another exciting aspect of the auction is that in addition to the art shown in the Preview Show, some artists will also donate work that they will create on the actual day of the auction; these artists will be working in and around Concord, MA.

On Saturday, May 14, the Preview Show will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm as a part of the
fourth annual Concord Art Walk, featuring exhibits and programs throughout Concord.
