Concord Art Association and Massachusetts Cultural Council are pleased to present the exhibition, State of Art: Massachusetts Cultural Council Fellows and Finalists. The exhibition will showcase twenty-one artists recognized by the MCC’s 2008-2009 Artist Fellowship Program in both painting and crafts:

John O’Hearn (Somerville), James Peters (formerly of Truro) and Corinne Ulmann (Somerville).
2009 Crafts fellows/finalists:
Michael Banner, Maureen Banner (Monterey),
Angela Cunningham (Somerville), Janet Echelman (Brookline), Christopher S. Gustin (Dartmouth), Robbie Heidinger (Westhampton), Tricia Lachowiec Harding (Fall River), Elizabeth Whyte Schulze (Worthington), Heather White van Stolk (West Roxbury) and Joe Wood (Jamaica Plain).
The painters were selected from a pool of 527 applicants to MCC’s FY08 Artist Fellowships Program. The jurors included Donna Bruton,
Louis Cameron, Mary Hambleton, and Dan Mills. The FY09 craft artists were selected from a pool of 177 applicants. The crafts jurors were Bennet Bean, Tzu-Ju Chen, Beth Ann Gerstein, and Kate Lydon. MCC Artist Fellowships provide direct assistance to Massachusetts artists working across a range of disciplines, to recognize exceptional work and to support the further development of their talents. Artist Fellowships give individuals the financial ability to hone and deepen their craft.
