Artist’s Statement:
I am a longtime Concord resident, an artist as well as an interior designer. I have a studio at the Emerson Umbrella in Concord and have exhibited at the Concord Art Association, the Emerson Umbrella, the Concord Library, the Cambridge Art Association, the Bonita Springs Art League (Florida) and a show of the New England Watercolor Society. A graduate of Wellesley College and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, my work concentrates on color patterns and the strong contrast between light and shadow. I enjoy painting “en plein air,” which means painting outdoors and experiencing the natural light and wind and colors of the landscape. I now paint in New England in the spring and summer and fall, and paint in Florida in the winter. I have studied watercolors with Don Stone, George Nick, Judi Wagner, and Paul George, among others. Lately, I have begun to enjoy the colors and textures of acrylic paint. It has been a joy to create these paintings, and I hope that you will also enjoy them. |
