Join us on Wednesday, April 15th for an Artist Demo with Lisa Houck. Lisa will discuss Andamento (the movement and flow of the mosaic tiles) and demonstrate how to cut and place glass and ceramic tesserae to create beautiful mosaic designs. She will explain the tools and adhesives used to make mosaics for both indoors and outdoors. Participants will have an opportunity to try out the tools, and you will go home with enough information to start making your own mosaics!
Lisa has created several permanent mosaic installations in the Boston area, including A Friendly Flock Touches Down, a 22’ mosaic in the Frieda Garcia Park in the South End, and City Square with Reflecting Pool, a 6’ x 6’ mosaic in the Iron Street Park in the Fort Point neighborhood (pictured here). Houck also works in ceramics, printmaking, and painting.
